Anderson MBA Program Information - General Core Curriculum

Anderson Students The MBA program at The Anderson School is based upon a strong core curriculum which is both challenging and continuously evolving to keep pace with the issues facing today’s managers. The MBA program offers two (2) degree tracks:

  • A MBA consisting of 30 hours of core plus 18 hours of management electives.
  • A MBA with a concentration consisting of 30 hours of core plus the 15 hours required by a concentration and 3 hours of a management elective course.

The MBA is a 48-hour program. In addition to the 30 hour Core (below), students will then have the option to pursue an MBA with 18 hours of MGMT electives , or pursue a concentration, which is 15 hours (with the exception of Professional and Tax Accounting), and take one 3-hour MGMT elective.

The MBA program may be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Classes are scheduled to accommodate the needs of students with professional commitments or full-time employment. Late afternoon and evening classes are offered year-round to accommodate the needs of working students. Students may take up to seven years to complete their course of study.

All MBA students must either complete these courses or be waived from these courses, with the exception of MGMT 598, which all students must take as a capstone course. Any student who has taken a course equivalent to the core courses (other than MGMT 598) at either the graduate or undergraduate level may waive these courses if the student has satisfied the following conditions:

  • The course was taken within the last 5 years
  • The course was taken at an AACSB accredited school
  • The student received a B or better grade in the course
